Taryn is a senior lecturer in the Graduate School of Technology Management at the University of Pretoria in South Africa and has been involved in the project management industry since 2008. Before joining academia she managed a variety of software development and business process improvement projects both in the public and private sector. Her qualifications include an engineering degree, a master’s and a PhD degree in project management. Taryn is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP), PRINCE2 practitioner and a professional engineer. She has published widely in both national and international journals. Her current area of research is computer-mediated communication in projects, services project management and procurement management.

Pedzisani is an engineer at Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems Africa in South Africa and is involved in the project management and construction monitoring of electrical, instrumentation and control works in the energy sector. His previous work experience includes developing as well as implementing embedded computer systems and industrial process automation solutions. He holds a Bachelors and Honours degree in engineering. The author was enrolled for an M Eng (Project Management) degree in the Department of Engineering and Technology Management, University of Pretoria.
