Biography

Barrie is Associate Professor in Project Management at the University of Southern Queensland (USQ) in Australia. He is a retired Architect and has a PhD in Education, a Master of Business Administration and a Master of Project Management. He started his career as an Architect working in Brisbane and London, and then project managed tourism, commercial and residential projects for a major Japanese property development company on the Gold Coast. He has been lecturing since 1998 in Australia and south-east Asia as part of the USQ executive teaching programs, teaching through diverse modes such as distance education, online teaching, and executive intensive teaching programmes onsite for Defence. He completed doctoral studies in project management education and practice in 2009 and was a joint recipient in 2012 of a national Citation for Outstanding Contributions to Student Learning awarded by the Office of Learning and Teaching (OLT).
