Mike Jenner is the founder of in•flu•ence leadership development consulting. Mike has an MBA from the Harvard Business School and a B.Eng in Production Engineering and Management from the University of Bath, England.
in•flu•ence’s mission is to effect real behaviour change so that their client executives become more influential leaders, at work and in life. We recognise that most executives already have extensive leadership knowledge. The problem isn’t a deficit of knowledge; it’s not knowing how to translate that knowledge into maximally effective leadership behaviours in real life.
Behaviour change and skill development happen through experience, but the rate at which they occur can be accelerated with intense practice and specific feedback. in•flu•ence‘s focus is on maximising the number of opportunities for participant executives to practice leadership skills in a safe, high-quality, feedback-rich environment. Executives leave the programs competent and confident to practice the new behaviours that would otherwise take years to acquire in the real world. What’s more, having gained the competence and confidence to practice these new behaviours, executives are able to continue the self-development process back in the workplace, ultimately achieving mastery.
Separate from running in•flu•ence, Mike was an Associate Professor of Management, teaching leadership to MBA students at the Universities of Chicago and Sydney. Every class he taught at Sydney was awarded a Dean’s Citation for Teaching Excellence Award. At the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business, Professor Jenner was ranked #1 out of 178 faculty teaching at the business school.
When not coaching or teaching, Mike is either playing in a croquet tournament somewhere across the globe or uncovering the joys of parenthood with his 15-year old daughter and 12-year old son. At the former he is worldranked, at the latter he occasionally feels in need of remedial training.
