Dr Karyne Ang is a trans-disciplinary academic and researcher at the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology (FEIT), University of Technology, Sydney (UTS), Australia. Karyne’s research interests stretch beyond the traditional disciplinary boundaries to encompass project and portfolio management, megaprojects, stakeholder engagement, value, collaborative practices, and decision-making in complex environments.
As the Production Manager of the Project Management Research and Practice Journal (PMRP), she works closely with editors, authors and conference organisers to publish quality papers targeted at both scholars and practitioners.
In a previous life, Karyne professionally led and directed multiple client-based project portfolios encompassing New Product Development (NPD), brand management, consumer behaviour and market segmentation research in Australia, New Zealand and Malaysia.
Karyne enjoys mixing it up across disciplines by engaging actively in teaching, facilitation, collaboration in research and publications while conducting education research projects across multiple faculties – Science, Law, Engineering and Information Technology. Her recent research on stakeholder value in project portfolios has been well-published and presented at International conferences and seminars in London, Paris, Warsaw, Boston, Glasgow, Sydney and Vienna, to name a few. Karyne holds a PhD in Engineering (Project Portfolio Management), Master of Education (Organization Learning) and a Bachelor of Business Administration (Marketing).
