Galen Townson PMP is a senior manager with over 25 years in strategic execution, complex programs and change to $500M, in energy, government and finance sectors, and increasingly for purpose and values-led organisations. He now leads a complex system culture change for Catholic Education Western Australia to help children feel and be safe and support student wellbeing and engagement. He also works as an Advisor for UNOPS, improving governance, leadership and delivery, including missions across South Sudan for UN Peacekeeping and in Pakistan for UN Women outcomes.
Galen has earned 15 project management-related professional certifications, Fellow of Australian Institute of Management, Member of Australian Institute of Company Directors, and completed NFP Board and Company Directors courses. Following his Executive MBA, Galen studied Social Impact at the University of Western Australia; Sustainability at Curtin University; Advanced Project Management and Sustainable Energy Innovation at Stanford University; and Positive Psychology at the University of Melbourne.
Galen volunteers and serves on several NFP boards and committees; mentors PMI leaders across Australia and New Zealand; teaches project management and strategic execution to MBA level; supports leaders and systems navigate complexity and change; and coaches for purpose, impact and wellbeing.
