Dr Phil Crosby trained in engineering in the UK before relocating to Sydney to run his own industrial engineering firm. He then managed an instrument manufacturing business, followed by 12 years with NATA applying technical management Standards to industry. He establishing four overseas NATA offices, led science impact assessments in Antarctica, and a review of nuclear isotope production at ANSTO. In 2005, Phil joined Boeing as Industry Participation Strategist for aerospace projects. He then moved to CSIRO, and was seconded to the UK Square Kilometre Array radio-telescope project office for two years in 2009.
Phil is now Assistant Director for CSIRO Astronomy & Space Science and divides his time between strategic planning and project oversight for CASS, and industry liaison for the SKA project in the UK. Phil’s expertise is around success in high-technology mega-projects.
