Achieve the Next Level by Intentionally Applying the 70/20/10 Principle
Projects are about delivering – and learning. In a world that is constantly changing, our abilities and skills need to keep evolving. But how do we take control of our own development and that of our teams? This presentation will challenge participants to reflect on their current technical, interpersonal and leadership capabilities in relation to the demands of the future workplace and their own aspirations within it. They will be introduced to a set of academically validated models against which to assess their own leadership behaviours, identify their strengths and weaknesses, and select their learning objectives. They will review their own approach to learning and development, how best to apply this knowledge to their own development journey, both in building a systematic, measurable plan, and in creating the infrastructure and resources necessary to implement the plan. By applying the principles covered in this presentation, and by utilising the Personal Leadership Development Plan (PLDP) template provided to them, participants will be able to create and implement a focused plan that moves them to the next level.
This presentation is directly tied to the conference theme in that it outlines a structured method by which participants can INTENTIONALLY develop the skills and capabilities they require to get to that next level of their career. The tools will assist participants to both plan their own development, as well as guide team members towards improving their performance and capabilities.
