Empower young women to pursue career in Portfolio & Project Management
Australia’s central bank, the RBA, is responsible for conducting monetary policy, maintaining a strong financial system, an efficient payments system, and issuing the nation’s banknotes. The IT department’s core mission is to deliver a world-class technology function that contributes to the Bank’s policy and operational objectives. Over the last four years, the RBA’s technology project portfolio has tripled in size in order to meet the Bank’s strategic agenda. In 2013, the bank’s IT PMO was established with a vision of “delivering the right projects and programmes, in the right way, with the right people, every time”.
Despite the exponential increase in the Bank’s IT portfolio, large Industry projects with externally-communicated milestones have been delivered on time (peaking at 100% in 2016 & 2017). As a result, the IT PMO has faced challenges regarding on-time portfolio delivery, within tight time frames and at a very high quality while at the same time maintaining increased security and operational stability standards.
