The Future of Change Management and why it matters to Project Managers
In 2017, we are seeing a second wave of awareness of the need for Change Management. More projects are resourced with Change Managers, more organisations are investing in change leadership training for managers and the number of certified change practitioners is rapidly increasing.
Around the world, Change Management is following the lead of Project Management, with Professional Associations, Standards, a Body of Knowledge and Certification all positive signs of a new profession and discipline.
But is more of the same enough? Is Change Management on the right path? Do PMs and Business Leaders really get the connection between Change Management, user adoption and achieving project benefits and outcomes? Are PMs and CMs building a successful partnership? Are organisations on a mission to embed change capability in their DNA?
Or should we be disrupting Change Management with a new model better suited to the challenges of the digital age of disruption?
