Agile and the Future of Project Management
Agile as a way of working is becoming more and more prevalent, with long lasting teams replacing project teams, and small slices of value replacing traditional projects. What does this mean for Project Managers? Some say there is no place for Project Managers in Agile. But there is. A definite need in fact. And this need is more than ever!
Our workplaces (and our lives) are being disrupted on an unprecedented scale, and professional Project Managers are uniquely placed with “a very particular set of skills”; skills acquired through broad and deep experience. These skills are not just suited for the new world we find ourselves in, but essential.
This talk explores these skills through the journey of 3 Project Manager personas, and encourages the audience to examine their own strengths gained from years of project delivery. There may be some gaps, but there sure are some powerful counters that position us favourably to succeed in the (not so new) world of Agility.
