For many, winning a professional award is a career highlight; demonstrating and rewarding the culmination of years of knowledge and experience in producing outstanding results worthy of recognition by their peers.
The Project Management Institute (PMI) Australia Awards are the highest recognition bestowed on professionals in our country, recognising numerous worthy recipients who have made significant and valued contributions to project management. The Awards give us an opportunity to acknowledge and thank those trailblazers who raise awareness and promote our profession, specifically in communicating and championing the value practitioners’ offer in aligning project practices and delivering business strategy.
Every year the PMI Australian Chapters invite our members to nominate those worthy of representing our profession. We do this to reward those who worked hard and to celebrate our collective achievements. Globally project professionals play a significant role in making projects and programs a success – everything from major infrastructure projects to new technologies resulting in better living and working environments. Professionals who dedicate themselves to research, education, or developing tools to make our job easier are worthy of our praise and gratitude.
As part of the process, the PMI Australia Awards Committee gathers to review entries from across Australia. For any nomination to be considered a finalist, each nomination was required to reach a pre-determined standard as outlined in the criteria by the PMI Judging Committee. This assessment was based solely on the submission received and reviewed by the judges. The recipients who excelled will be recognised for their contribution to project management from the following categories:
- Project of the Year
- PMO of the Year
- Continuous Professional Education Provider
- Young Project Manager of the Year
- Distinguished Contribution
Our profession is continuously striving to reach new levels of excellence, with a concerted emphasis on investing in professional development as outlined in the PMI Talent Triangle. The PMI Australia Awards are a measure of our profession’s progress in striving for and achieving higher standards and celebrating those who help make this a reality.
“ As always, this year’s standard has been high and the decision to determine the finalists and winners has been a tough one. We believe in encouraging our profession to achieve excellence. Along with my colleagues, I look forward to congratulating the Award recipients at the PMI Gala dinner,” said Mr Peter O’Driscoll, Chairperson for the PMI Australia Awards Judging Committee.
The PMI Australia Awards Committee thank all those who have nominated their colleagues and fellow practitioners and encourage members to consider nominating in the future.
